Delhi HC directs police to produce rapist
New Delhi : Acting on the complaint of a minor girl that R K Puram Police refused to register a case against her neighbour, who allegedly raped and forcibly married her, the Delhi High Court has directed the government to produce before it the accused, Rahul.
In a letter to the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, the victim claimed that she was compelled to complain directly to the court as police refused to register any case against the accused despite repeated pleas by her family.
According to the victim, she was initially raped at knife-point in August 2003 by Rahul, who also threatened to kill her 13-year-old brother if she did not yield to his demands.
Since then the victim alleged she was repeatedly raped on a number of occasions by Rahul mostly under the threat of eliminating her younger brother.
She alleged that on April 6, 2006 she was drugged, raped and taken away by Rahul with the help of his parents and some others in a vehicle and forced to sign on several blank papers.
