NEW DELHI: It took a stern warning from the Congress Working Committee (CWC) for the Delhi government to wake up from slumber and spring into action.
In less than 24 hours, the Congress government in Delhi obeyed the high commands orders on rising prices and decided to offer two most expensive dals at Rs 38 a kg at special retail outlets, starting Tuesday.
Delhi government will start selling dhuli urad and dhuli moong dal at Rs 38 a kg from retail vends at its 70 food and civil supplies circle offices. The pulses will be sold open and will be weighed in front of the customer.
The government will buy the pulses at Rs 37/kg from wholesale dealers and about 70 trucks will be hired by Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation to transport pulses from the godowns to the circle offices.

With medical services in the Capital hit badly as a result of the strike by resident doctors, Delhi government has issued notices to them to rejoin duty or face action.
The government has issued notices to the junior and senior resident doctors asking them to come back on duty or face break in service, Delhi Health Secretary DS Negi said.

Srinagar : Senior National Conference leader and former MP Ali Mohammad Nayak, who was seriously injured in a militant attack on Monday, was today shifted to a hospital in Delhi to undergo cosmetic surgery on his face, officials said here.
Nayak, a former Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, was shifted to Delhi to undergo plastic surgery on his face which was badly damaged in the attack, Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital Dr Waseem Qureshi said.
He said Nayaks condition had stabilised after the doctors at his hospital performed a surgery.
New Delhi : With medicos in the capital going on strike as part of their anti-quota agitation, Delhi government has cancelled the leave of doctors in its hospitals and drawn up an action plan to ensure that the intensive care, emergency, casualty and trauma services remain unaffected.
In view of the strike, we have decided to cancel the leave of doctors and it has also been decided that no leave will be granted to doctors in hospitals under Delhi government for the time being, said Health Secretary D S Negi on Monday.
