Delhi blast survivors rush in to help

NEW DELHI: Bansilal Grover, a businessman had a providential escape in Sarojini Nagar blast that rocked Delhi on Diwali eve. Standing a few metres away from the spot where the bomb went off, he escaped without a scratch.

He took this providential escape as an order from God to devote his life to humanity. So when the Meerut blaze victims were stretchered into Safdarjung Hospital, he decided to act. Piling up his Maruti Wagon R with food and drinking water, Bansilal was at the hospital to help the anxious relatives of the victims.

And Grover was not alone. His neighbour and shopkeeper Ashok Randhwa, another witness to the blast in Sarojini Nagar was also reaching out to the relatives. We have suffered and this is why we can relate to the Meerut victims.

Similar was the reaction from Abhishek Banerjee who works in

Lodi Gardens

Lodi Gardens: Earlier known as Lady Willington Park, Lodi Gardens is located on the main Lodi Road, about a kilometer east of Safdarjang's tomb. Beautifully landscaped and well laid out with small water bodies, fountains and a jogging track, the gardens are very popular with people of all ages in the capital. Re-landscaped by JA Stein and Garrett Eckbo in 1968, the gardens also house the National Bonsai Park that has a fine selection of bonsais. However, the main attractions are the ancient monuments belonging to the Sayyid and Lodi periods around which the garden was laid out in 1936
