NEW DELHI: A day after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) sounded the red alert following the terror blasts in Mumbai, commuters here on Wednesday said they do not mind going through laborious security checks but are not ready to go through another horror in the capital.
We welcome the decision of the Delhi Metro authorities to step up security. It is better to go through a number of security checks than face some horrible terror attack. The October 29 triple blasts in market places here is still fresh and Delhiites are not ready to face any such brutality, said Simran Sinha, who commutes through metro everyday.

NEW DELHI: Realising full well that the state-of-the-art Delhi Metro could become a target of terrorists planning to inflict large-scale damage, security on the railway network has been stepped up. New Delhi : Security was today stepped up at RSS and VHP offices in Central and South West Delhi respectively after three suspected terrorists were gunned down near the Sangh Headquarters in Nagpur.
Additional security personnel were deployed at Keshavkunj, the RSS office in Jhandewalan area of the capital and tight vigil was being maintained in the surrounding areas, a senior police official said.
Patrolling has been increased in Jhandewalan area as also in Ramkrishnapuram locality in south-west Delhi, where the VHP office is located, he said.

NEW DELHI : The Lashkar-e-Toiba threat to Delhi Metros underground corridor on Line 2 ( Delhi University-Central Secretariat) has not only put Metro staff on a high alert but also thrown the security agencies into a tizzy.
The CISF has taken over the high-risk installation and deployed additional staff at all locations. While the ban on liquids including water has been lifted after Janmashtami, CISF personnel is taking no chances.

NEW DELHI: After a spate of 'threatening' emails, the Delhi Police has prohibited the use of cyber cafes by persons without photo identity cards, for two months starting July 25.
The order was issued by Police Commissioner K K Paul, saying it had been noticed that anti-social elements were using such facilities, especially email, to mislead security agencies, create panic in the public, endanger the security of important personalities and government institutions and affect State security.
