NEW DELHI: After a spate of ‘threatening’ emails, the Delhi Police has prohibited the use of cyber cafes by persons without photo identity cards, for two months starting July 25.
The order was issued by Police Commissioner K K Paul, saying it had been noticed that anti-social elements were using such facilities, especially email, to mislead security agencies, create panic in the public, endanger the security of important personalities and government institutions and affect State security.

In a revolutionary step towards womens empowerment, the Delhi government on Tuesday gave its nod to include the name of mothers in all official documents and certificates released by different departments.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting.
Officials said that henceforth, voters identity cards, driving licenses, ration cards, school certificates, birth and death certificates and disability certificates would include the mothers name.
They said that particulars of both parents in the documents would help in establishing the identity of the person concerned in a more specific way.
