NEW DELHI : The Lashkar-e-Toiba threat to Delhi Metros underground corridor on Line 2 ( Delhi University-Central Secretariat) has not only put Metro staff on a high alert but also thrown the security agencies into a tizzy.
The CISF has taken over the high-risk installation and deployed additional staff at all locations. While the ban on liquids including water has been lifted after Janmashtami, CISF personnel is taking no chances.
Water bottles, lunch boxes and bags are being checked invariably and even women are being checked without fail. A special ladies-only staff will soon be in place to frisk women. Meanwhile, The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) continues its regular announcements at stations warning people against suspicious people and unattended baggage.

New Delhi : With the Delhi government terming the strike by medicos as totally illegal and threatening action against them, doctors of 14 hospitals here today withdrew their strike even as services continued to be affected in other hospitals.
Resident doctors of 14 of the 45 hospitals that are under the directorate of health services of the Delhi government have withdrawn their strike called as part of the anti-reservation stir, an official spokesman said.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will start work Wednesday onwards on the seven-kilometre Noida line that will connect the national capital with the IT capital of Uttar Pradesh, as part of its second phase.
The work will start with test piling and will be inaugurated by Samajwadi Party MP and Uttar Pradesh Development Council chief Amar Singh at Sector 32 of the satellite township.
