Pragati Maidan is also host to many other fairs which includes the Auto Expo and the leather Fair. Through out the year Pragati Maidan is the venue for fairs and expositions. The Shakuntalam theatre is located in Pragati Maidan and regular film shows are held here.

The months of September, October and November are busy with various types of fairs. The Handicrafts Fair at Delhi Haat is a major attraction for the lovers of handicrafts. The business fair held by the Delhi Government is also a major attraction for the Business community. The Diwali fairs around the Diwali festival is held in almost every community.

Crafts Museum

Crafts Museum: It is located in Bhairon Road, Pragati Maidan. The Crafts Museum at Pragati Maidan display Indian handicrafts and offer first-hand experience of craftsmen at work. Some of the most rare and exquisite pieces of art and craft that have collected selectively and carefully from all over India are the prized possessions of the museum. Established in 1956 with an aim to showcase and promote the works of native artisans, it has over 20,000 objects on display by early 1980s. The distinctive architectural display of Indian villages and authentically constructed mud huts adorned with folk art and tribal exhibits

The International Trade Fair

The International Trade Fair: Trade and Handicraft fairs are a common phenomenon in Delhi. Some of the major events held here include the annual 13-day long International Trade Fair that begins on 14th November. This trade fair is held at the Pragati Maidan. This fair is a major event for the Business community. Corporate houses from all over the world come in this fair and business deal are finalised in a big way. This fair is also a major tourist attraction and lakhs of people visit the fair which ends after thirteen days.

Delhi Book Fair: The Delhi Book fair is the largest fair in the country, in terms of size as well as on the economic side. It has a great contribution in supporting the growth of the neighboring markets. There are over 12000 publishers and 90, 000 titles every year in more than about 18 languages.
