Delhi University student commits suicide

A 28-year-old girl, pursuing a post-graduate course at the Delhi University, on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide in South Delhi. Kalyani Tamang, hailing from Assam, was found hanging from the ceiling of her room in Chirag Delhi locality on Tuesday morning, police said. She was a final year MA student in Delhi Universitys south campus. Police have recovered a suicide note from her room in which said she was taking the extreme step due to some personal reasons and nobody was responsible for her death. Delhi man kills wife, kids, commits suicide

New Delhi: A 41-year-old man Sunday committed suicide after killing his wife and two children in Delhi, police officials here said. Junior intelligence officer Sri Kumar Nair hanged himself after drowning his two minor children in a tub and stabbing his wife to death in Chanakyapuri area of the capital, a police official said. Nair, who belonged to the paramilitary force Assam Rifles, was on deputation to the intelligence bureau. Three killed in kitchen gas explosion in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Three people were killed and four injured, including an eight-year-old, as a house in West Delhi collapsed following a kitchen gas explosion, the fire brigade said on Monday. Fateh and Sandeep, both teenagers, and 25-year-old Sandeep died as their house at Vikas Nagar in Uttam Nagar area caved in after an LPG cylinder in the building exploded at around 2.00 am hrs on Monday, a fire brigade spokesman said. Twenty-eight-year-old Ashok, eight-year-old Munni and two teenagers Guddu and Anil were injured in the incident, he added.

Teen gang-raped in Delhi

New Delhi : A 17-year-old girl was Wednesday raped the national capital by five adolescents, four of whom have been arrested, police said. According to the police, the accused and the victim knew one another well. The incident took place in the Kabir Basti area of northwest Delhi. A medical examination of the victim had confirmed rape, Deputy Commissioner Of Police Sunil Garg said. We have arrested four of the accused and would soon nab the fifth, he added.
