Delhi Children To Be FIFA Flag Bearers At WC

New Delhi, India (AHN) - Four lucky Indian children will be part of FIFA flag bearers at the football World Cup in Germany next month after a nationwide search spanning 1200 schools across the country.

According to reports, Shreshth Shah from Kolkata, Ajiteshwar Singh from Delhi, Sachit Kamlesh Yadav from Mumbai and P S Sudarshan from Bangalore were selected on the basis of passion, skill and knowledge of the game amongst children who registered for the contest.

The World Cup is to be held from June 9 to July 9.

The four winners will join children from across the globe and watch the match between Australia and Croatia on June 22.

Delhi man kills wife, kids, commits suicide

New Delhi: A 41-year-old man Sunday committed suicide after killing his wife and two children in Delhi, police officials here said. Junior intelligence officer Sri Kumar Nair hanged himself after drowning his two minor children in a tub and stabbing his wife to death in Chanakyapuri area of the capital, a police official said. Nair, who belonged to the paramilitary force Assam Rifles, was on deputation to the intelligence bureau.
